One of the Smart City Mission’s undertakings is to improve citizens’ access to basic services. In this regard, existing Public Toilet Units (PTUs) in the NDCC Area are being transformed into Smart Public Amenities Centers that provide, under one roof, four essential services –

1. A Toilet
2. A Water ATM
3. A Cash Machine
4. A Digital Clinic

These PACs are being built through an arrangement where the NDMC provides space—land and built structure—to private companies who then offer these services. An amount of INR 45 million has been earmarked for this purpose. At present, 40 such Smart Public Amenities Centers, with features like rooftop solar panel, sanitary pad vending machine and online user feedback tablet, are already functional.
