17th October 2018, New Delhi : Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday said the New Delhi Municipal Council had set an example to transform the New Delhi area into a globle bench Mark city by implementing various digital infrastructure for civic aminities to citizens and other innovative projects like Wi-Fi, Smart Polls, FTTH, eLearning, eHospital under the Smart City Mission etc.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Common Services Centre (CSC) Kiosk, the first in the New Delhi, which had been commissioned by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in association with Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India at Minto Road, near Railway Bridge in New Delhi today.

The LG said the Council had transformed the NDMC area into a digitally empowered society by extending civic services and community facilities to its residents. And the Common Service Centre (CSC) Kiosk will be a milestone in respect of providing NDMC in its vision of Digital India program.

Member of Parliament Meenakshi Lekhi said NDMC had always striving hard for adopting latest technology and innovative ideas for facilitations of the citizens of New Delhi area by digital infrastructure.

This facility will provide NDMC related schemes like electricity and water bill payment, building approval plan, birth and death certificates, event booking, health licenses in NDMC, booking of baratghar, property tax, besides the Central Government Schemes like passport, pan card, railway ticket at their door steps of the citizen of New Delhi area, she added.

NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar had said that it was a joint venture of NDMC and Ministry of Information Technology through Common Services Centre e-Governance Services India Ltd.

The Chairman informed that the NDMC set up another four such centres in different localities of the New Delhi area by the end of this financial year. And said the services with regard to provide Aadhar card to the residents of New Delhi area and visitors would be added in the kiosk shortly.

Later on, the LG inaugurated Police Facilitation Kiosk and e-FIR facility through interactive panel at Khan Market in New Delhi area, which has been set up by NDMC for Delhi Police.

Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik said the services in the Hi-Tech Police Facilitation Kiosk would be extended to the public at 24 x 7 hours and it would be manned by a dedicated police facilitation officer along with the supporting staff. The interactive panels with internet facility for e-FIR facility would be made available in the kiosk for public.
